Community Based Infrastructure Initiatives

T-Square Engineers were appointed as Consulting Engineers and Technical Advisors by eThekwini Municipality for the implementation of Community Infrastructure Programme for a period of three (3) years. The programme mainly focused on infrastructural within wards in each region. T-Square were responsible for Central Region where there were 19 wards to be serviced. Each Ward was allocated was allocated an amount of R3.3million. Identification of projects was the prerogative of the ward community through its Councillor. Once project are identified and budgeted for, T-Square embarks on planning, design and documentation of projects. A Managing Contractor was appointed by the Contractor of which they had to utilise ward based Emerging Contractors for the implementation stage of the project. The programme provided employment to many within the community. The programme further provided coaching and mentorship to local community and built environment students sourced from the Municipal Data base.
